Bill, who do you think has the best chance to stick out of Laughton, Raffl and VandeVelde?

I've only seen bits and pieces of the 4 games so far, but I've been very underwhelmed. Too sloppy and too soft.

I don't care if they win vs the Devils, I just want to see some better overall play ... from everyone.

Geez, the Stepan thing is getting ugly. Sather called Stepan a fool in a televised interview.

"I don't think Derek is gonna let this thing linger too long," Sather said. "I don't think he's big enough of a fool [to sit out a year]."

So, he's a fool, no doubt about that. Just not a big enough one to sit out a year.

And what player doesn't want to hear his GM badmouth his agent?

"It's unfortunate that Derek has decided to listen to his agent," Sather said.

Right, because every player should listen to the GM and not his agent. That's totally the way things work with pro athletes.

I don't get the sense that Laughton is a favorite to make the team at this point. These next few games will be key for him.

It appears that he SHOULD be able to have a 9-gamer. Flyers should definitely be looking into the matter.

As it stands right now, I don't think ANYONE has that spot nailed down.

I hope the brass was honest when they said a young guy would need to blow the doors off to avoid going back to juniors.

That's why I said they should be looking into it, not they should keep him. If you have to keep Gervais/Rosehill in Adirondack for an extra 2 weeks to give Laughton his 9 games, so be it. They can even travel with the team if need be since there's no more recall waivers, they just will be sent down on paper.

They definitely are. So basically, every time he's on the bench and Kessels on the ice, just have a goon go after Kessel and he'll never get to play.

So he'll get less than 5 games for taking a 2-handed swing at a guy who was engaged with another player and not even standing...sounds fair.
